Most Embarrassing Band Moment We were doing a show at the Westwood Brewing Company, debuting 10 new tracks from Synchrony. The drink specials for the night? $3 kamikaze shots. Big red flag right there, especially since it was a packed house with all our family & friends. Even before we played, the audience was drinking and getting pretty crazy and hyper. Anyway, a couple songs into the set, people in the audience started buying us shots -- which is always appreciated, don't get me wrong -- but they were doing this in between every single song! So ok I took one or two at the beginning to loosen up. But when the 4th, 5th, 6th (i lost track) came around, the audience would "boo" if we DIDN'T take the shots! So of course we had to oblige :) And keep in mind, each song is what 5 minutes tops? That's a whole lotta shots in not a whole lotta time! So yea, by the end of the set, I was so freaking drunk on stage, I couldn't even pluck the notes on my bass until a second after I heard it. My vision was blurred. I don't even know how I remained standing. So I apologize for everyone in the audience that night -- it must have been an awful sounding set. And to top it all off, I heard from my friends later that my post-set adventures included sitting on the bar counter, body shots, ...
TOP FIVE SONGS Dream On - Aerosmith Dare You To Move - Switchfoot Everybody's Changing - Keane Out Of My Head - Fastball New York, New York - Frank Sinatra TOP FIVE MOVIES Bloodsport The Incredibles Shaolin Soccer The Count of Monte Cristo Mr. and Mrs. Smith Favorite Quote "I'll be right there, after I take a shower." - Frank Dux Most Embarrassing Band Moment We were playing at a Student Conference in Texas. Midway into our first song, my guitar strap broke off. I had to play the rest of the song on my knees (this was a rocking song mind you). After the song, I was so angry at my guitar that I threw it to the floor. Of course this made my guitar go way out of tune. I found it out the hard way as I strum the first chord of our next song and the audience went, "eh?" I made Nam stall as I went back to tune my guitar. Having already made a fool out of myself, I decided to stage dive during our last song...belly first. While surfing on my belly, I decided to turn onto my back. This unexpected move caused the audience to lose their grips, and I went tumbling to the floor. Luckily, adrenaline had kicked in and I didn't really feel the pain. I quickly jumped back on stage and finished the song. The next morning, I was hurting.
